A 1960s gold LONGINES watch from King Hussein of Jordan

A superb Longines gentleman's automatic wristwatch, dating from the mid-1960s in very good condition. 10k gold-filled case, stainless steel back, Longines automatic 25 jewels cal L.633.1 movement. 34.5 mm wide, excluding crown winder, leather strap with Longines signed gold-filled clasp.

In the 1960s, Longines produced some watches for the late H.M. King of Jordan as gifts to senior officers of the Jordanian Army. This watch, one of that unique batch, has on its dial the jutted Gold Royal Crown of Jordan and, under it, King Hussein of Jordan in Arabic. The movement's number dates its manufacture to about 1965.

The watch is in excellent condition, with but a couple of minor and hardly noticeable surface marks on the gold case, working well and keeping perfect time.

Overall an extremely rare and attractive Swiss-made Longines automatic watch dating from the mid-1960s with an exceptional Royal provenance.
