A superb 1944 LONGINES military-style watch



A superb Longines gentleman's manual wind wristwatch dating from the second World War in near to mint and original condition. Rare copper coloured dial and a high grade Longines movement. 34mm diameter excluding winder.


The rare copper coloured dial, signed by Longines, has blued steel hands with a sweep second hand and 1/10th second divisions supplied on watches designed for military use. The high-grade jewelled movement with chaton set jewels and gold balance is marked under the balance wheel with 23.M and is fully signed by Longines. The movement is numbered 6546137, dating its manufacture to 1944.

The case is stainless steel with a Longines signed screw back. It is in near to mint condition with just a couple of tiny pit marks to the edge of the screw back. A clean clear lens and new good quality brown leather strap.


Overall a rare and collectable Swiss-made Longines military style watch dating from 1944, the year of the Allied forces landings in occupied France, in excellent and near to mint condition and good working order.
