Ludgate Circus, looking up Ludgate Hill, c. 1896 (reduced in size)

Although originals of these 140 Victorian London photographs are difficult to find, you can now get them on a cd-rom prepared from original 19th century items held in a private collection.

The cd-rom isn't mass produced but is compiled individually for each purchaser so there are very few copies in  existence. You can get one of them here.

A few sample images, greatly reduced in  size, are set out below, followed by a complete list of all the views.

The London Docks, the gaugers at work, c. 1896 (reduced in size)

The New Cut, between Westminster Bridge Road and Waterloo Bridge Road, c. 1896 (reduced in size)

Oxford Street, near the Princess's Theatre, c. 1896 (reduced in size)

King William Street, the Cannon Street end, c. 1896 (reduced in size)
