Castle Street and Town Hall, Liverpool, 1910-20 (reduced in size)

Although originals of these old photographs around Liverpool are difficult to find, you can now get them on a cd-rom prepared from original items held in a private collection.

The cd-rom isn't mass produced but is compiled individually and personally for each purchaser so there are very few copies in  existence. You can get one of them here.

The photographs Liverpool are undated but were taken between about 1910 and 1920.  They show you how much Liverpool has changed in the last hundred years.  Compare these views with what you can see today.

A few sample images, greatly reduced in size, are set out below, followed by a complete list of all the views.

North John Street, Liverpool, 1910-20 (reduced in size)

The Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Station Hotel, Tithebarne Street, Liverpool, 1910-20 (reduced in size)

Bold Street, Liverpool, 1910-20 (reduced in size)

Approach to the Landing Stage with Cunarder, 1910-20 (reduced in size)

Ranelagh Street, Liverpool, 1910-20 (reduced in size)

The 100 photographs fall into two broad categories, 67 of them being large (varying in size from about 6" x 4" up to 9" x 7") and 33 small (typically around 3" x 2"). They are shown on the cd, and in the list below, in order, the large ones first and displayed at a uniform size, full screen; the remaining 33 'snapshot' size photographs start at page 72 and are displayed correspondingly smaller although again at a uniform size.
