Goree Warehouses, George's Dock, Liverpool, 1829

Although originals of these rare Lancashire views are very difficult to find, you can now get them on a cd-rom prepared from original 19th century items held in a private collection.

The cd-rom isn't mass produced but is compiled individually and personally for each purchaser so there are very few copies in existence. You can get one of them here.

The 100 views in this collection were engraved for printing by a number of different engravers in 1828 and 1829 working from original drawings and paintings by S. Austin, J. Harwood, and G. & C. Pyne.

The resultant black and white prints were published in 1831 by Henry Fisher, Son & Peter Jackson of London as "Lancashire Illustrated". Complete sets of the original prints are nowadays very difficult to obtain, changing hands at several hundreds of pounds.

A few sample images are set out below, followed by a complete list of all the views.
