Savile Street, Hull, c. 1895 (reduced in size)

Although originals of these Victorian photographs are difficult to find, you can now get them on a cd-rom prepared from original items held in a private collection.

The cd-rom isn't mass produced but is compiled individually and personally for each purchaser so there are very few copies in  existence. You can get one of them here.

The 75 images in this collection of late Victorian views of Hull and district were originally produced in about 1895 in an album bearing the name of Harold Todd, stationer and newsagent of Lowgate, Hull, as being the publisher.  Although other local businesses of the period also produced similar Hull photographs under their name in various formats, the photographs on this cd are taken from an original copy of the album published by Harold Todd.

A few sample images are set out below, followed by a complete list of all the views.
