** The major 1946 composite report by the Joint Intelligence Objectives Agency, Washington D.C., on the German wartime specialist engineering equipment (bridges, cable-cars, tramways and the like) used in mountainous and similarly rough terrain.

Duplicated typewritten report in English, 10 x 7.5 inches, 25 x 19 cms. 300 pages, Illustrations throughout.

Very good in original stapled card wrappers.

The Gebirgstruppe, Germany's Mountain Troops, and, in particular the Gebirgsjaeger (light Infantry mountain troops) were amongst the crack units of the German army forces.

Mountain infantry participated in many battles, including operations in Denmark, Norway, Finland, the Caucasus, the Gothic Line, the invasion of Crete and the battles in the Vosges region of France.
