** An outstandingly rare WW2 Restricted military intelligence report, every distributed copy with its own unique security number, this being 'Copy No. 227'.
Very few examples of this classified and security-numbered report have survived. Because of the report's extreme rarity, few collectors know these documents exist; only a tiny handful actually owns one.
WW2 RESTRICTED report Copy No. 227: Materials and Aerodynamics Research Institute, Sonthofen, Bavaria
BIOS Intelligence Report. BIOS final report 503. British Intelligence Objectives Sub-Committee (BIOS). June-Aug 1945..
** A major report on the contents of the most important Materials Research Institute of the DVL (Deutsche Versuchsanstalt fur Luftfahrt) evacuated to Bavaria from their laboratories at Aldershof Berlin late in 1944, and similar material.
Duplicated typewritten report in English, 10 x 7.5 inches, 25 x 19 cms. 134 pages.
Very good in original stapled card wrappers. Protected in a modern clear archival jacket.
The Materials Research Institute which was investigated in considerable detail, proved to be one of the most interesting metallurgical targets in Germany.
Equipment, research projects and personnel are investigated and lited. This report was suppressed and withheld from further publication, this numbered restricted format being the only evidence of its existence.
The report is particularly noteworthy in containing the names of many German scientists and engineers in a wide range of institutes and departments, specifying their areas of research.
